removal by Jake Doevan - - | Type: Browser hijacker

Don’t let Luckysite123.com search redirect you to shady websites!

If you ever come across Luckysite123.com site, better quit that page immediately. However, bad news for those infected with Luckysite123.com virus – if your browser opens this search engine automatically or if you feel that your browser continuously redirects you to that page, it means your browser was hijacked already. Although some people say that browser hijackers are nothing to worry about, in reality, they are considered to be potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that slow down computer’s work, make Internet browsers respond slowly, and cause annoying redirects that can put you out of temper. Therefore, it is strongly advisable to remove Luckysite123.com redirect virus from the computer – the sooner, the better. For that, you can use anti-spyware programs like ReimageIntego or try to delete them manually. We provide a comprehensive Luckysite123.com removal tutorial below – just scroll down the page to find it.

Luckysite123.com redirect virus

Research shows that this suspicious hijacker is currently compatible with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, which means that other web browsers might remain unaffected by this virtual parasite. However, this might change in the near future. Infected browsers are likely to behave suspiciously, for example, cause redirections, show pop-up ads and banners. The most obvious thing is that this browser hijacker tries to promote a specific search engine only to deliver sponsored search results via it. Beware of all sponsored content that this browser hijacker presents – clicking on it can take you to insecure places on the world wide web. You might be pointed to annoying sites that suggest installing free games, browser add-ons, weather apps, time managers, or software updates. These programs might be legitimate, but surely ad-supported, and if you do not want to see pop-ups, new tabs and banners everywhere you go, better avoid such software. In the worst scenario, you can install malware without realising it (it typically travels alongside bogus software updates).

Finally, we want to warn you that this browser hijacker tracks your IP address, browser type, clicks on ads, time spent on the particular website and similar data. Besides, better do not provide your email address anywhere when using the site, because authors of this PUP promise to deliver you newsletters with data on products, services, and special offers. In other words, if you do not want to receive spam, do not reveal your email address.

How did it infect my PC?

Now that you have learned how this browser hijacker operates, now it is time to learn why and how did Luckysite123.com hijack your computer. The most important thing that you should know is that this program spreads alongside other software, so you must watch what you install as well as HOW you install it. You must be extremely careful when installing free programs from the Internet because most of them carry extra programs, applications and various browser toolbars alongside them. Such pieces of software hardly have any value and should be avoided. To drop them off, choose Custom or Advanced settings when installing any program you download and simply deselect permissions to install additional software.

Securely connect to your website wherever you are

Sometimes you may need to log in to a content management system or server more often, especially if you are actively working on a blog, website, or different project that needs constant maintenance or that requires frequent content updates or other changes. Avoiding this problem can be easy if you choose a dedicated/fixed IP address. It's a static IP address that only belongs to a specific device and does not change when you are in different locations.

VPN service providers such as Private Internet Access can help you with these settings. This tool can help you control your online reputation and successfully manage your projects wherever you are. It is important to prevent different IP addresses from connecting to your website. With a dedicated/fixed IP address, VPN service, and secure access to a content management system, your project will remain secure.

Reduce the threat of viruses by backing up your data

Due to their own careless behavior, computer users can suffer various losses caused by cyber infections. Viruses can affect the functionality of the software or directly corrupt data on your system by encrypting it. These problems can disrupt the system and cause you to lose personal data permanently. There is no such threat if you have the latest backups, as you can easily recover lost data and get back to work.

It is recommended to update the backups in parallel each time the system is modified. This way, you will be able to access the latest saved data after an unexpected virus attack or system failure. By having the latest copies of important documents and projects, you will avoid serious inconveniences. File backups are especially useful if malware attacks your system unexpectedly. We recommend using the Data Recovery Pro program to restore the system.
